Leano Ploeg (21) has been working at Farm Trans as a planner for our Bulk division for almost a year now . For as long as he can remember, he has been familiar with Farm Trans. His father started working as a truck driver there when Leano was born. As a child, he already started enjoying going off on truck drives with his father: “I used to go with him every holiday, as often as I could.”
How do you become a planner?
To eventually become a planner, Leano went to Shipping and Transport College after secondary school, in order to study Transport Management and Logistics. He enjoys his job, as it’s a great working atmosphere at Farm Trans. “Because I used to go along with my father a lot, I do enjoy making sure truck drivers get a nicer drive,” Leano says of the aspects he likes most about his job.
Qualities a planner must possess
What qualities must a true planner possess? To this, Leano said: “Dealing well with stress is a basic, dealing well with constant change, and not assuming you work from 9 to 5. I think you should be able to do good work if you are creative in your approach.”
